YouTube,Teachertube, Languagetube
The use of digital video to teach language in a real-world context was an inevitable development and it is here. Youtube no doubt will inspire all kind of tubes, hence languagetube.com where I went this morning. I was greeted by a young man teaching me how to greet in Thai: Sawaddee
Thailand, as you have heard and maybe learned this morning, is the land of the smile. I like learning this way. What about my students? What about you?

I am
I came to your blog through a link on FLTEACH. I teach French in a small international school in the north of Thailand…imagine my surprise to see this video! This was so much fun for me to watch (I speak Thai as well). What this Thai person said is so true–the Thai are very encouraging about their language. Even when I just say hello (sawasdi ka), the reaction is often, oh you speak Thai so well! This makes me smile—it is the land of smiles as well. You must visit someday if you have never been here!
I look forward to coming to Thailand one day. I’d fit right in!! I am a big smiler. Thanks for your comment here.
