laura-newI am Laura Franklin.  I teach French at Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria Virginia, USA. I love working on the web, teaching with technology and  discovering new media. I am the Editor of the World Languages collection of MERLOT and a member of the MERLOT Africa Network.

I hope this blog will atract the attention and ideas of those who share my interests.

    I’m Rick’s friend who makes a living by tuning and repairing pianos.

    I think teaching a language would be intersting. I’d love to teach spanish. Too bad I don’t speak spanish!

  2. Hi, Laura. Nice to attach a face to a name I’ve seen for so long. Reading your blog will be better than posts now and then. I am setting up a series of blogs (Marcy Webb’s, Ben Slavic’s and others’) to visit on a rotating basis.

    Como vai? Você foi minha profesora de Portugues na GWU em 1992 (acho 🙂 e queria manter o contato e ter notícias suas. Casei 6 anos atraz em tenho dois filhos. Voltei ao Brazil (do meu coração) varias vezes. Moro agora na Africa do Sul. E você? Como vai? Por favor mande notícias quando puder. Um grande abraço e muitas saudades.       Que prazer enorme ter notícias suas! Moro ainda na região metropolitana de Washington. Sou profesora de francês em Northern Virginia Community College desde 1992. Estou feliz de saber que você continua falando português e visitando o nosso Brasil querido! Eu ainda não conheço a Africa do Sul, quase fomos na Copa, mas vimos tudo na tv, claro. Fiquei triste quando o Brasil perdeu mas gostei muito da Copa em geral. Um forte abraço para você e a sua familia. Laura
